Little Things I’ve Been Loving Lately

Not everything that makes life nicer has to be big or overly exciting. These are a few little things I’ve owned or recently discovered that have been bringing small moments of joy to my everyday life lately.

My Handmade Chopstick Holders

I made these handmade chopstick holders for my husband and I a few months ago when I was experimenting with air dry clay. I always see such cool ones online but I thought making them myself would be a great little project for my current DIY era. They are such a small detail, but they make meals that require chopsticks that much cuter. I love setting them out whenever we make anything with rice or noodles. It’s one of those tiny objects that adds a surprising amount of charm, and I LOVE how they came out.

My Crystal Collection

Calling it a “collection” might be a bit of a stretch, but regardless of how many there are, my little crystals are quickly becoming some of my favorite objects to look at and hold. They’re part of the small things that quietly make my space feel more peaceful. I love them all but the ones I find myself reaching for the most are a simple clear quartz and a small citrine. I like keeping them in my bedroom, close to my nightstand where they catch the light. I feel like they add a touch of whimsical "magic" that I absolutely love. Especially when they catch the light in such a nice way and somehow make the whole room feel calmer and brighter. They’re not anything elaborate, but they do bring me joy and good energy.

Small Personal Objects

Dove Coconut Water and Lime Deodorant

Not going to lie, I originally bought this Dove Deodorant for my husband because I have been faithful to Salt & Stone (the Santa & Vetiver obvi) BUT when he first wore it and I smelled the scent I was absolutely shook. I actually never would have guessed that scent came from a Dove deodorant, but I was sorely wrong. I should clarify here that it is not for those who do not like scented skin products. I actually thought it was perfume at first, but it doesn’t have that overwhelmingly pungent “perfume perfume” smell. I know… that explanation isn’t helping much. Well next time you want to be pleasantly surprised by a small ordinary everyday object, this is your guy.

Cotton Headbands

I remember wearing these constantly in middle school, so I was very happy when I saw all the cool girls wearing them again. It's interesting how a simple soft cotton headband can make your whole look. Not to mention they’re perfect for keeping my hair back while doing skincare, putting on makeup, or just around the house. Simple, comfortable, and surprisingly trendy.

CASETiFY Zebra Print Phone Case

I was *very* overdue for a new phone so I recently bought a new one and of course the most exciting part of it all was the thought of getting a new phone cover. While scrolling through a couple of websites trying to choose one, I realized I was acting as if this would be the last phone case I ever bought in my life. (which is very on-brand for me, since apparently I love unnecessary pressure) . So I couldn't make a decision, so I stalled for days. Until I saw this Zebra print CASETiFY case and loved it immediately. I don't really do animal print, but I somehow landed on this choice. It's fun, but still only black and white and I have loved it since I first put it on my phone. Look at me taking aesthetic risks!

Things I Use Daily

Tracey Tanner Leather Pouches

I’ve been loving Tracey Tanner leather goods for a very long time. The very first item I bought from TT is my python card holder (which is my entire wallet because who needs cash) that I purchased about 8 years ago at a local store in my old LA neighborhood. I’ve used it every day since. So after loving it for a few of years I decided to buy more leather goods from her website and every single one exceeded my expectations. I think I have a total of five, which are always on rotation depending on which bag I am using. The leather is soft but durable and I love all the different prints and colors. There are definitely cheaper alternatives for small leather pouches out there, but Tracey can take all my money whenever she wants.

Gingham Packing Cubes

I absolutely LOVE these gingham packing cubes. Did I purchase them months ago? Yes! Have I ever used them? No! Can I not wait to use them for my next trip to Japan? YES. These have thousands of great reviews on Amazon, so I already have a feeling they’ll be good. Although, I don't know that I've ever met a packing cube I didn't like, because packing cubes rule. But Gingham is one of my favorite prints and I find baby blue to be such a pleasant color to look at. So there you have it.
