The Winter Inventory: Objects of Strategic Comfort

A few things helping me get through winter

Winter usually feels like a battle of attrition, but this year I’m leaning into the gear. Less "survival" and more "strategic comfort." From the French pharmacy staple that saves my skin to the slightly ridiculous boots I can’t stop wearing, here is the current rotation of things making the cold months feel elevated.

Moon Boots Substantial, cozy, and the only thing I want to wear when the snow actually hits. Major plus if you wear them with feathered PJs to simply walk your dog. Shop the Boots

Fashion Nova Faux Fur Jacket The drama of a vintage find without the mothballs. Surprisingly warm and probably the best quality faux fur I've ever owned. And yes, you read the brand correctly. Shop the Jacket

The Cling Bag Hook A "if you know, you know" accessory. Keeping your suede bag (or my beloved vintage LV Speedy 30) off the floor is a personality trait. There are a lot of cheaper options out there, but when you carry your entire life in your bag you want something that can really hold the weight. Shop the Hook

Rechargeable Hand Warmers For those of us who are perpetually cold. These are sleek enough to fit in a coat pocket without looking bulky. Also, let's never buy disposable ones, shall we? Shop the Warmers

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré The gold standard for a reason. It’s the only thing that stands a chance against radiator heat and Minnesota cold. I just can't quit you. Shop the Cream

Color Wow Dream Coat Glass hair is a summer vibe, but frizz-free hair is a winter necessity. I tried SO many treatments, but this one is IT. Trust a frizzy, thin haired girl on this one. Shop the Spray

Mrs. Meyer's Peppermint Spray Because if I’m stuck indoors, I want it to smell like a crisp winter morning. I also love bougie cleaning products and I get unreasonably excited to use them. Shop the Spray

The Faux Leather Clutch Soft, oversized, and tucks perfectly under a heavy coat for dinner. I have it in Gray, but how gorgeous is this burgundy? I'm usually not a fan of dupes, but this one is one of the few exceptions. Shop the Clutch

Honorable Mentions

The Nordic Cookbook by Magnus Nilsson I bought at my local thrift store and a honey + handmade whipped cream toast in bed while it snows outside. xo
